Mughlai Mutton Biryani

Mughlai Mutton biryani is a very famous Indian Dish. It goes very well with raita and best for non-veg lovers. This meal is also cooked at many festive, weddings, birthday occasions, it is liked by everyone. It is a main dish cooked at E-id occasion. Try this recipe.

Ingredients for Mughlai Mutton Biryani

750 g mutton cut into pieces

1 cup oil

1/4 kg potatoes peeled and cut into quaters

1 1/2 tsp salt

For Marinate

20 g ginger

16 flakes garlic

6 green chillies

100 g tomatoes chopped

1 tbsp salt

1 1/2 tbsp red chilli powder

2 tbsp coriander leaves chopped

2 tbsp mint leaves chopped

1 1/2 tbsp garam masala

1 tbsp cumin powder

1 cup curds beaten

For Rice

2 1/2 cups rice (cook that rice 3/4)

1/4 cup milk

2 green cardomons

1/4 tsp caraway seeds


Directions for Mughlai Mutton Biryani

For Marination

1To make Mughlai Mutton Biryani Grind together ginger, garlic and chillies into paste

2Rub the paste to meat. Add all the ingredients for marinade and mix well.

3Keep aside for 4 hrs or for midnight

Cooking

1In frying pan heat oil for about 5 mins. Lightly fry the potatoes and add to marinated meat and mix well

2Also fry the onions in 2 batches with 3/4 tsp salt till onions are golden brown and crisp. Remove the onions drain the excess oil and mix with the marinated meat.

3Heat 7 tbsp ghee in the cooker mix meat and 1/4 cup water mix well.

4Keep meat on one side of cooker and rice on the other side

5In a pan, heat remaining ghee for a minute and fry caradomons and caraway seeds and pour over rice

6Close the cooker and cook for 20 mins

7After the cooker is cooled naturally , serve Mughlai Mutton Biryani with raita.
