Traditional Goan Fish Curry Recipe is a very common and tasty Goan Fish Recipe, which is cooked nearly daily at most houses in Goa and finally served with steamed rice. To make Goan Fish Curry mostly mackerals, pomfrets or any fish can be used. This Traditional Goan Fish Curry is my favorite Goan Fish Recipe and my tasty Goan Fish Curry from childhood. 3 Mackerals / Pomfrets
5 dry red kashmiri chilles
1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
3/4 cup grated coconut
1 tbsp coriander seeds
1 tsp cumin seeds
1 cup water
2 big sized onions (finely chopped)
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1 sprig curry leaves
2 medium tomatoes chopped
3 green chillies slit
4-5 Bindi Solas (washed slightly)
salt as per taste
4 tbsp cooking oil
1Clean and wash the fish, and then cut it into required pieces to make Goan Fish Curry
2Apply salt to the fish and keep it aside
3Grind red chillies, ginger garlic paste, coconut, cumin seeds, coriander seed into paste adding little water time to time to a fine paste
4Remove the grinded paste and keep it aside, then add little water in mixer jar, clean it and keep this water for further use.
5Heat the cooking oil in the cooking pan and then add the chopped onions and fry till golden brown
6Add the grinded coconut masala with turmeric powder and fry for 4 -5 minutes stirring constantly
7Add tomatoes, curry leaves, tefla and the water kept aside and cook till the tomatoes are pulpy
8Now add the green chillies, bindi solas and 1 cup water and bring it to boil.
9Then add the fish gently and stir carefully, let the curry to come a boil, then on low flame cook till the fish is cooked add salt if neccesarry.
10And the Traditional Goan Fish Curry is ready, Can serve this Goan Fish Curry with steamed rice, which goes very well.
