Chana masala (punjabi chole masala) vegetarian dish originated from north india with main ingredients such as Chickpeas, onion,tomato with fine blend of exotic Indian spices. This dish goes well with Chapathi, Naan, Roti, Parata, Bhatura, Poori etc.
1 cup Kabuli Channa / chickpeas
2 tsp ginger garlic paste
2 onions chopped finely
2 tomatoes chopped finely
1 tsp garam masala
1/2 tsp tumeric powder
2 tsp coriander powder
2 tsp cumin powder
1 tsp chilly powder
coriander leaves and lemon for garnishing
1 Soak kabuli chana / chick peas overnight
2 Take some oil in a cooker, Add the chopped onions, ginger and garlic paste and saute till onions turn transparent.
3 Add the chopped tomatoes, stir in for sometime
4 Add the turmeric, coriander, cumin, salt, garam masala, chilly powder and mix well
5 Add Kabuli chana and water such that all the ingredients are properly soaked
6 Pressure cook till ingredients are cooked
7 Garnish with coriander leaves
